GUIDED FANTASY STRATEGY TO INCREASE STUDENTS‟ DESCRIPTIVE WRITING ABILITY

Abstract


The objective of this study was to find out whether or not Guided Fantasy was effective to use in teaching writing ability to the seventh grade students of SMP N 13 OKU. The sample of this study was 40 students for experimental group and 40 students for control group that were taken by using cluster random sampling. The data collected by using written test. Each group was given a pre-test and post-tense. The data obtained through test and analysis was done by using independent t-test. Based on calculation of t-test, the value of sig = 0.061 more than (α = 0.05). The value of t-obtain was 3.781 more than t-table was 1.66 (df = 78) and the value of sig. (2-tailed) or p value = 0.000 less than alpha value (α = 0.05). From the result of t-test had been given, the writer concluded that it was effective teaching descriptive paragraph by using guided fantasy to the seventh grade students of SMP N 13 OKU.
