POWER POINT PRESENTATION ASSESSMENT TOOLS OF ECONOMIC BUSINESS COURSE STUDENTS

Abstract


The digital era on the century brings technology to education process. Teaching and learning process on the classroom use modern technology as learning media. One of the media is the use of integrated LCD and computer on the classroom. The most common media use in learning process is the power point slides. The Economics Business English course is a short course held by English Language Training of Semarang University to enhance the students‘ ability that will be useful in the Asia Free-trade nowadays. One of the critical problems for the students is to carry out English speaking through effective power point presentation. In an attempt to deal with this challenging problem, the research investigated the students participation on the power point preparation process and to seek the impact to the student‘s English speaking ability. The research fall into descriptive analysis. Some theories, a questionnaire and semi-structured interview was used to complete the triangulation. The data were qualitatively analyzed. Results of the study revealed how the power point media implemented in a language classroom as one of the assessment tools to enhance the students‘ English speaking skills.
